  • How long is a session?
    Aikido Basics (Mondays) and Aikido for All (Thursdays) classes last 2 hours. Children can attend anything between 1 hr and 2 hrs.
  • How much is a session?
    £5 for Adults and £3 for Children.
  • Where are you based?
    Our Dojo is based at the Woolpit Village Hall: Mill Lane, Woolpit, Bury St. Edmunds IP30 9QX
  • What time does the session start?
    Mondays and Thursdays sessions are in-person: 19:00. Please be on time. Bring a bottle of water. Come dressed in your keiko gi or some loose clothes. Parking and changing rooms available. Aikido weapons provided.
  • Are children welcome to the Dojo?
    Yes, we accept children from 7 years old. From 7-18 years old at £3 a session. Young people from 14 years old can practise more intensively with adults.
  • Are there any other additional costs?
    Membership and Insurance Membership of Inori Aikido Aikikai Dojo includes membership of the Kyu Shin Kan Omekai and the United Kingdom Aikikai (UKA). Yearly insurance is provided by the Joint Aikikai Council (JAC) and covers all members to practise at any JAC Aikido class, throughout the United Kingdom and internationally. Adult - £25 Junior (under 18) - £18
  • Do you have the option to travel for seminars?
    We attend national and international seminars, winter and summer schools during the year, Covid-19 restrictions permitting.
  • Do I have to setup a standing order?
    Currently, we receive payment on "pay as you train" basis.
  • Are Aikido classes COVID-19 safe?
    At Inori Aikikai Aikido Dojo we have put in place Covid-19 Enhanced Health and Safety Measures for both In-Person Aikido Training and Aikido Seminars • Class size has been reduced • Pre-booking is essential • Participants arrive in their keiko gi / training outfit • It is participants full responsibility to make sure they are in good health and fit for practice; any symptoms of illness during the session to be immediately reported • It is compulsory to wear face masks when entering the dojo and for the whole duration of the session (children are exempted from wearing face covering) • Changing rooms and showers are not available • Temperature check (infrared thermometer) - seminars only • Participants scan Inori NHS QR for Test and Trace at their arrival • Disinfect / wash hands (spray participants with disinfectant: front, back and feet/shoes - seminars only)) • Online Registration (Inori Dojo website) and / or Sign and Email Student Indemnity Form to inoridojo@yahoo.com • Payments by bank transfer or exact cash • Limited use of toilets; when used, social distancing and hands hygiene apply • Dojo is divided into spaces, social distancing measures to be respected (2m apart) • Items permited in the dojo: face mask, sanitiser, tissues, wooden weapons, water bottle, phone, car keys, wallet / purse • No spectators allowed • Doors / windows are being kept opened at all times during the session to ensure natural ventilation • Doors, windows, handles, light switches are cleaned before and after practice • Mats, if used, have to be desinfected • Weapons, if used, have to be cleaned • Once arrived back home participants are advised to take a shower • Keiko gi / training outfit to be washed after each practice • Covid-19 Risk assessment has been completed and regularly reviewed • Covid Safe tailored training for instructor • Covid Safe instructor / martial art school certificate • Instructor Covid-19 fully vaccinated UPDATE: 19th July 2021 🥋 The limit of people in the hall is lifted from 30 to full capacity. 🥋 You are not required to book your space in the dojo, neither to pre-register online... just turn up! 🥋 Use the sanitiser provided. 🥋 Register in the registration book upon your arrival. 🥋 Pay as you train: make cash payments (online banking also available). 🥋 Scan Inori NHS QR for track and trace. 🥋 Face coverings do not need to be worn. 🥋 Foam mats will replace the vinyl mats. 🥋 Safer practice: All our adults members have been fully vaccinated. 🥋 Toilets / changing rooms have been reopened. UPDATE: 16th October 2022 🥋 We encourage you to use the sanitiser provided. 🥋 Register in the registration book upon your arrival. 🥋 Pay as you train: make cash payments (online banking also available). 🥋 Judo (vinyl) mats are being used in both classes. 🥋 Safer practice: Our instructors have been Covid-19 vaccinated, including the autumn booster. All our adults members have been fully vaccinated.
