For many Martial Arts clubs, summer means holidays. Here, at Inori Aikido Dojo, by contrary, our doors remain open all year round.
If you have no plans in July/August come and train! Or, if you wish to return on the mat after a long absence, why not joining us for some fun? It would be nice to see you again even if you just come along for a one-off Aikido session.
Aikido is a dynamic Japanese Martial Art suitable for men and women of any age, size and build. The art relies on the redirection of your opponent's movement and energy instead of responding with a punch or a kick. Aikido training combines empty-handed techniques with weapons workout, including wooden sword, staff and knife, all practised in a safe and friendly environment. Whether it is applicable self-defense technique, spiritual development, physical health or peace of mind, you can find it in Aikido! On a purely physical level it is an art involving throws and joint locks, placing a great emphasis on body movement, harmony between partners and safe falling.
Most importantly, in our Aikido style we don’t promote competitions and we do not award trophies because we strongly believe that true victory is victory over the self.
Regular classes run at Woolpit Village Hall on Monday and Thursday nights and are taught by Adrian Munteanu sensei, 4th Dan Aikikai and Jamie Bunting sensei, 1st Dan Aikikai. Adrian and Jamie are Coach Level 1 & 2 qualified, DBS checked, first aid qualified and Covid-19 fully vaccinated.
