April 2024: My Aikido Adventures with Dad!

Hey everyone! I'm here to tell you all about the coolest thing ever - training for Aikido with my dad! It's like being in a superhero team, except we're learning martial arts instead of flying (which would be awesome, but this is the next best thing).

First off, you might be wondering, "What's Aikido?" Imagine if karate met gymnastics and they had a baby. That's Aikido! It's all about being strong, flexible, and super-duper smart about how you move. And the best part? I get to learn it with my dad!

One of the best things about training for Aikido is the outfits. We wear these awesome robes called Gi, and I feel like a Ninja every time I put mine on. Dad says it's about respect and tradition, but I just think it’s super cool.

We practise in Woolpit at a dojo (that's a fancy word for our training place). Our teachers are called Sensei and they show me how to stand, how to fall without ending up in hospital, and how to do moves that could help me if I ever needed to protect myself or someone else.

Training with my Dad is the best, we laugh, sometimes we get tangled up like spaghetti, and we learn together. He says I'm getting better every week, and that makes me feel proud.

In conclusion, Aikido with Dad is the best! I learn how to be strong, how to be safe, and how to be a good person. Plus, it's super fun. I think everyone should try something like this with their parents. It's a great way to hang out and learn cool stuff together. Thanks for reading about my Aikido adventures - maybe I'll see you in the dojo someday!
