The year has begun with great energy at Inori Dojo. All our students returned to training in early January, and we’re excited to welcome several new beginners who have stepped onto the Path of Harmony. They’ve trained with real commitment—well done to every one of you. If you missed the Beginners’ Course, don’t worry: join us any Thursday evening for a free trial and discover how Aikido can enrich your life physically, mentally, and spiritually.
We’re heading into a packed and inspiring year: February grading, Winter School with Ryuji Shirakawa Sensei in March, a UK Seminar with Dimitri Crenier Sensei in April, an International Seminar with Hiroshi Ikeda Sensei in May, Safe Falling Prevention and Training, Summer School in August, the International Aikido Summit in Japan in September, the East Anglia Regional Aikido Seminar with Peter Brown Sensei in October, our Aikido Open Day in November, and Misogi training to close 2024.
Aikido is a dynamic Japanese martial art suitable for absolutely everyone—children, adults, beginners, and experienced practitioners alike. It teaches how to use an attacker’s movement against them through empty‑hand techniques and traditional weapons such as sword, staff, and knife. Training is always conducted in a safe, friendly, and encouraging atmosphere.
With no competition and a focus on self‑development, Aikido helps children build confidence, respect, focus, flexibility, emotional intelligence, resilience, and a sense of calm and happiness. We proudly support students with ASD, ADHD, and a range of disabilities, ensuring our dojo remains inclusive and welcoming.
